Move Microsoft Authenticator to a new phone
How to keep your work sign-in working when you get a new phone.
Your work account in Microsoft Authenticator does not copy to a new phone on its own. Plan for it before you switch, and you will not be locked out.
If you still have your old phone
- Install Microsoft Authenticator on the new phone.
- On a computer, go to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo and sign in. Approve the sign-in with your old phone.
- Select Add sign-in method, choose Authenticator app, and scan the code with the new phone.
- When the new phone works, delete the old phone's entry from the same page.
If you no longer have your old phone
Call or text us at (231) 884-7146. We will reset your sign-in method after we confirm it is really you, and then you can set up the new phone.
Careful
Do not wipe or trade in the old phone until the new one works.
