Phone Wi-Fi and hotspot
Connect to Wi-Fi, or share your phone's data with your laptop.
Connect to Wi-Fi
- Open Settings and choose Wi-Fi.
- Select the network, enter the password and connect.
Use your phone as a hotspot
- On an iPhone, open Settings, choose Personal Hotspot and turn on Allow Others to Join. On Android, open Settings, then Network and internet, then Hotspot and tethering.
- Note the hotspot name and password shown.
- On your laptop, connect to that network like any other Wi-Fi network.
Good to know
A hotspot uses your phone plan's data, and video calls can use a lot. Turn the hotspot off when you finish.
