Install Windows updates
Keep your computer safe, and finish an update that is waiting on you.
Updates fix security holes and bugs. If we look after updates for your business, most of them install on their own. What we need from you is a restart when your computer asks for one.
Check for updates yourself
- Open Settings and choose Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- When the updates finish downloading, select Restart now, or pick a time that suits you.
Good to know
If a message says a restart is required, restart the same day. If you cannot restart in the middle of work, restart at the end of the day.
If an update fails
Restart once and check again. If it fails a second time, take a screenshot of the error and send it to us.
