Your computer is hot or the fan is loud
Cooling problems can damage a computer. Here is what to check.
- Make sure the air vents are not blocked. Do not use a laptop on a bed, a couch or a blanket.
- Put the computer on a hard, flat surface.
- Close programs you are not using. Heavy programs make the fan work harder.
- Restart the computer.
- If dust is packed into the vents, tell us and we will clean it. Do not open the case yourself.

If it shuts off on its own or feels too hot to touch, stop using it and tell us.
