Microphone or webcam is not working
Permission and device checks for calls and meetings.
Check these first
- Look for a mute button or a camera shutter on the device, and make sure they are off.
- Unplug a headset or webcam and plug it in again.
- Close other programs that might be using the camera or microphone.
Check Windows permissions
- Open Settings, choose Privacy & security, then Microphone or Camera.
- Make sure access is on, and that apps are allowed to use it.
- Open Settings, choose System, then Sound. Check that the right microphone is chosen as the input, and speak to see the meter move.
Good to know
If it works in one program but not another, choose the device inside that program's settings.
