You sent an email to the wrong person
What to do in the first few minutes.
It happens to everyone. Act quickly, and be honest about what was in the message.
- Do not count on the Recall feature. It rarely works.
- Contact the person and ask them to delete the message without opening it or forwarding it.
- Tell your manager if the message held customer, financial or private information.
- If it included a password or login details, call or text us at (231) 884-7146 so we can protect the account.
Good to know
To avoid it next time, check the recipient names before you press send, and be careful with autocomplete.
