Scan a document
Scan to your computer, an email or a folder.
The exact steps depend on your printer, but the choices are much the same.
- At the printer. Place the paper on the glass or in the feeder. Choose Scan, then pick where it goes, such as your email or a shared folder. Ask us if you do not see your name.
- From your computer. Open the Windows Scan app from the Start menu, choose your scanner and select Scan.
- With your phone. Use the scan feature in the Microsoft 365 app, or in the Notes app on an iPhone, to turn a page into a PDF.
Good to know
Scan at 200 to 300 dpi for normal documents. Higher settings make huge files.
Careful
Check the scan before you send it. Make sure it is readable and does not include a page you did not mean to send.
